The vital role trustees play in the running of a charity and the particular pressures they face will be addressed at a seminar we are holding near Exeter next month.

Our annual Charity Seminar will once again take place at the Westpoint Centre.

Now in its eighth consecutive year, the popular seminar is a chance for trustees – the people in charge of charities – to hear about the latest rules and regulations governing the sector as well as network with their peers.

This year we will have a guest speaker, Angus McNicol of Wessex Charity Consultants, who will provide insight into how to recruit the best mix of people as charity trustees.

Angus joins our own charity-sector experts who will deliver valuable information on a range of topics to help trustees achieve their aims.

Simon Lake will talk about investment policies with fellow partner Stuart Carrington detailing the importance of effective governance and safeguarding.

Also, during the seminar, Tom Stuckey will provide tips and advice on how to write a quality trustee report.

The Thomas Westcott Annual Charity Seminar takes place on Tuesday, November 13 in the Westpoint Centre’s Conference Room.
